How to read this list. These days pass the classical filters of Muhurta Chintamani (Vivah Prakarana) at every level: season-level (no combust or retrograde Venus, no combust Jupiter, no Chaturmas, no Kharmas, no intercalary month) and day-level — only the auspicious tithis (Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, Trayodashi of either paksha) carrying one of the ten classical wedding nakshatras (Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati). Rikta tithis (Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi), Purnima, Amavasya and the Gandanta nakshatras are excluded. Confirm the exact hour with your priest before fixing a wedding.

Why the calendar opens and closes. Marriage seasons follow the planets: no weddings while Venus (the significator of marriage) is combust or retrograde, none while Jupiter is combust, none during Chaturmas (from Devshayani to Prabodhini Ekadashi), during Kharmas (Sun in Sagittarius or Pisces) or during the intercalary month. That is why 2026 opens in late February, closes in mid-July and reopens on 21 November.
How to use the two extra columns. Nakshatra is the lunar mansion current at sunrise on the listed day, and the Abhijit window is that day’s one general-purpose auspicious span centred on local noon. Both are day-level aids only — they are not a substitute for the lagna-matched sub-hour selection a family priest performs on top of such a list.

Methodology and reference
All timings on this page are computed astronomically for the respective local coordinates — solar and lunar sidereal positions, the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa and sunrise-anchored window divisions — and regression-checked against the Government of India publication Rashtriya Panchang (Positional Astronomy Centre, India Meteorological Department, Kolkata). Data verified against the Positional Astronomy Centre, IMD (Government of India) publications on every site update; the computation method is described on the about page.
Frequently asked questions
- What are the Vivah (marriage) muhurat dates in 2026?
- 23 days in 2026 pass the classical filters of Muhurta Chintamani for Delhi: auspicious tithis and wedding nakshatras only, Venus not combust or retrograde, Jupiter not combust, and none of the closed seasons (Chaturmas, Kharmas, Adhika month).
- Which months are best for weddings in 2026?
- Wedding dates cluster in the seasons left open after the closed periods are removed: Chaturmas (Devshayani to Prabodhini Ekadashi, roughly July to November), Kharmas (mid-December to mid-January and mid-March to mid-April) and the intercalary month. In 2026 this leaves three main golden windows — late February into early March, late April, and late November — with the exact candidate days listed in the table above.
- What happens if a wedding nakshatra falls on a Rikta tithi?
- The day is rejected. Rikta tithis (Chaturthi, Navami and Chaturdashi, the "empty" lunar days) are excluded by Muhurta Chintamani even when a highly auspicious nakshatra such as Rohini is running, because the tithi sets the day's overall fertility; a good nakshatra cannot repair an empty tithi. Purnima and Amavasya are likewise excluded for weddings.
- Why do marriage dates differ between websites?
- The season and day-level filters are shared, but each publisher also applies sub-hour windows, fixed-lagna choices and horoscope matching, which change the final list. Confirm the exact hour with your priest.
